I grew up surrounded by family members who were truly giants—men and women who worked across America’s industrial landscape: railroads, mills, mines, factories, farms, and beyond. Their stories—of innovation, struggle, friendship, and resilience—shaped how I see the world.
But listening wasn’t enough for me. I needed to experience it myself.
Over decades, I worked directly in industrial fields across multiple sectors—from railroads and mining to manufacturing, agriculture, communications, construction, and energy. I walked factory floors, rode the rails, explored mines, visited farms, and talked to the people who built and operated these systems. I met engineers, laborers, managers, and innovators. I witnessed the intelligence, ingenuity, and human cost of industrial life firsthand.
These people—and their stories—deserved to be heard and preserved. Now, as a storyteller and author, I dedicate my work to rescuing these overlooked voices from obscurity. Through live performances, books, podcasts, and writing, I invite audiences to step into the shoes of the people who built modern America—and to discover “the rest of the story.”
